Help
My son Abe is home from school and helping me with the mosaic. We are making a run at the background, cutting some very sugary marble to frame the figures. In an ideal world, the background templates are easily found, cut from the paper remaining from the figures. But every little tweak I make to the design alters the lines. In this particular section, each background piece has to be ‘carved’ out of paper before we can cut it from stone. Very tedious, a by product of adapting the design on the fly. Sometimes the drawing is just right, but often there’s a little something that would make it better. Each change starts a chain of reactions. As a part of that process, you become very acquainted with each shape.
