First Planet

Urania is juggling planets. It sounds silly to say, but it has a specific place in the story of the mosaic. It was the first thing I drew in this iteration of the piece where I saw how I could visualize the Muses in a meaningful and interesting way. Historically, the Muses are depicted as passive backdrop. Sometimes maybe, they dance or play a lyre. Usually topless.

I wanted my Muses to be a bit more badass than all that, active and powerful. Juggling planets is where I started to see it.
